Crete as we Live it

Manolis Mavrokostas, a cook in Anogeia

"At my wedding I asked the priest of our church to tell me how much will the lights for the wedding cost.

He said:

If we turn on the lights outside it's 5.000 drachmas, if we also light up the ones inside the church 10-15.000 and if we light up the fancy chandelier it will cost about 40.000, which lights do you want?

Manolis says: ahh don't worry... lets go there and will manage somehow with no lights, the point is to get married"
