Additional Info

ResidenceSEA presents Tension-Flow-Fury, a Tape Art project by Fiorakis Manolis and ASK. The opening and presentation will be on Saturday, March 7, 2015,at 20:00 at the ResidenceSEA space in Amoudara, Heraklion. The installation can be visited also on the 8th and 9th of March from 20:00 until 00:00.

ResidenceSEA will open the new year 2015 with the Tape Art project by two artists from Crete, ASK and Manolis Fiorakis. Manolis Fiorakis, one of the artists, says: ResidenceSEA is not just the space, where this batch takes place. It is also the lab, where the ingredients of this process are purified. Tape art is not just the medium. It's the law that compels the whole process.

The Austrian electro musician RIFA (Thomas Schenk) together with the Cretan sound engineer Marietta Grammatikaki will create sounds for the installation "Tension-Flow-Fury", thus amplifying the feelings and statements of the artists in ResidenceSEA.

ResidenceSEA - Sensing your Environment through Art - is a residence space in Heraklion inviting performers, researchers and multimedia artists to work and play. ResidenceSEA aims to bring international artists to Crete, offering them a space to experiment and to interact with local artists. Since 2012 ResidenceSEA has hosted 15 groups of international artists, working on interdisciplinary performances and installations. ResidenceSEA is located at the seaside behind the Pankritio stadium. For directions and more details got to http://maakali.org/ResidenceSEA

About the project

About the project: The project Tension-Flow-Fury consists of 3 separate yet undivided aspects, united as one concept:
Tension (force): A more personal and self-analytical part of the project. A static unknown and raw force of continuous pressure that stretches within, but at the same time blows off into the outer world and space.
Flow (process): An effort to convert the force of Tension into a stream of acts and works. From a raw and harsh state to a more active and rounded form that spreads across space.
Fury (result): A manic and sharp but concentrated outcome of the previous processes. A feeling of intense and chronic anger.
