Matala Beach Festival is organized for the fifth consecutive year to keep the myth of Matala alive!
A unique festival on the sandy beach beneath the caves made famous during the hippie era of the 1960s and ‘70s. Matala attracted international attention in the early 70s when Joni Mitchell released her critically acclaimed album ‘Blue’, which detailed her experiences whilst living in the caves with the young hippie travellers, enjoying the tranquility of Matala Beach.
For three days, June 19-21, popular Greek and foreign artists and thousands of visitors unite in a grand music feast.
The three concert stages of the festival will host artists and groups such as: Dub Inc, Imam Baildi, Αlone Together, Everdie, Mojo Tooth, Sbaraquack, Alan Dalon, as well as DJ sets and tributes to legendary bands of the '60s-'70s. The festival also features parallel events (performances, workshops, street painting, ect) and an open air bazaar.
The entrance to all concerts and activities is free, and a place in the organized camping costs 9 euro per person (for all three days).
