ROUMA - 1st Festival

A newly founded music team presents its first festival, featuring some of Crete's best young artists. On Monday August 31, at the Gate of Bethlehem (puli vithleem), Heraklion.

Rouma / flowing like water...

A 'flow' of different shades of music, in a common ground, Heraklion.

Local musicians unite their visions and take action, unsing solidarity, autonomy and mutual support as vital ingredients in an endeavor to promote the multifaceted music production of Crete

"Rouma" means creek -or small stream- in the Cretan dialect, and could be defined as an independent autonomous action, an endeavor that strives to support the production of high quality local music. Its members aim to build a music bridge, a survival mechanism for musicians, helping them to develop and promote their work.

A team of active artists who are friends and collaborators, who work, play, sing, write lyrics, record and perform together, have now founded a new 'land' for their creation, Rouma, a 'culture shock' that aims to awaken artistic production on the island.
