The Municipality of Heraklion with the support of Tez Tour presents the exhibition ''Between Light And It’s Absence'' by artist Teodosio Sectio Aurea.
The Athenian self-taught artist, Teodosio Sectio Aurea, creates unique pieces of art, using metal to create shadows. His complicated, almost chaotic metal artwork, seem to be beautiful but confusing to anyone looking at them for the first time. But when these pieces are put near a source of light, and with the correct orientation, they create majestic shadow creations.
In his own words: “As peculiar as it may sound, i’m planning to lose touch with sense and reality, and communicate to you the language of mystery, and you are probably wondering how exactly i will be doing this..right? I am using shadows as my paint. My canvas. Everything I create, gives birth to an unexpected shadow, which always has a philosophical connection to it’s source, the metal. I tend to create a small universe, either as an observer of the creation itself, or as the creator. I am given a chance to escape the world we live in, and travel to unreal lands. Through my creations you can understand my feelings, my thoughts, my visions and my ideas. There are hidden messages everywhere around us…beauty and positive energy flow through us all the time. And my art is my way to communicate to you, my deepest feelings and thoughts. A more attractive side of reality, via a game of shadows.”
The exhibition opening will take place on Saturday September 5 at 20:00, in the New Cultural & Conference Center of Heraklion, Crete, and it will remain open until September 20, 2015.
