ResidenceSEA introduces the artist duo LOLO & LAUTI: "Dirty Beach"

Additional Info

On Friday the 2nd of October, 22:00, the artist duo LOLO & LAUTI from Argentina will present their project DIRTY BEACH at ResidenceSEA in Heraklion. The evening will continue with the premiere of two amazing bands: QUEEN TAKES JACK and LOLLIPOP and end with MARY & MATTHEW CRAWLEY  DJs.

LOLO & LAUTI are an artist duo from Buenos Aires who have been working together since 2011. Their project Dirty Beach is a video installation based on a performance that Lolo & Lauti made using trash recollected from Amoudara beach. During their stay at ResidenceSEA LoLo & Lauti worked with Rodrigo Moraes and Vasilis Flouris, documenting and datascaping the psychogeographic perception of our surroundings. They created a floating living sculpture,  emphasizing the thirst for shopping. Lolo & Lauti say: “We discover narrative and storytelling in the real world: We believe there is nothing more fantastic than non-fiction, that the world we live in, is the ultimate participatory installation”.

The Queen takes Jack were founded in the summer of 2014. Their music is a hybrid of dark wave vocals and alternative guitars, rock bass and drums with progressive elements. Their sound is influenced by bands such as the Dresden Dolls, Placebo, Muse, Queens Of The Stone Age, Porcupine Tree and Portishead. LolliPop was founded in summer 2013, intended to give a harder style to famous pop songs. The motivation has been a discussion among the band’s members about how catchy some pop tunes are, and how the average metalhead would hardly admit it. This pushed them to bridge the gap by creating a pleasant atmosphere in live shows, covering Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Ricky Martin and Backstreet Boys, just to mention a few!
