Continuing the Late Night Museums tradition, and just a breath away from Christmas, the Historical Museum of Crete welcomes its young and old friends for a night tour at the museum collections, this Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at 20.00.
While touring the exhibition spaces of the museum, guests will encounter small music scenes at all museum levels. Melodies that reflect the spirit of the evening and the specificity of each collection, performed by outstanding local artists Yiorgos Zacharioudakis (traditional percussion, lyra), Michalis Lambrakis (saxophone), Katerina Psaroudaki (violin) and Athena Koumantaros (harp).
On this special night, the scientific staff of the Museum will celebrate together with the visitors, offering "flash tours" in the hotspots of the Museum Collections.
The bar of the museum (1st level) will add its own touch to the unique atmosphere, serving traditional winter drinks with cinnamon and Christmas cocktails created especially for this night in cooperation with the mixologist-bar tender Dimitris Vavouranakis.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to see the two new exhibitions of the Historical Museum of Crete: the icons from the personal collection of Portalakis Zacharias (15th-20th century) and the temporary exhibition Divinity (dis)Continued from the modern art collection of Portalakis.
The Museum Shop will be open throughout the evening, featuring Christmas creations and small gifts for the holiday season.
