The 5th Festival of traditional varieties / seeds is celebration of freedom and common goods, solidarity, exchange and autonomy. Recent development in Greece and all over the world highlight the importance of strenghtening these values, crucial for our survival.
The festival is organized by the local group PELITI, dedicated to the collection, preservation and free distribution of traditional varieties and seeds. This year, the founder of PELITI will join us, together with another pioneer in the movement, Pierre Rabhi, founder of Terre & Humanisme in France.
The 3-day festival includes speeches, and will conclude on Sunday April 10 in Pirgos with workshops, seeds exchange and a traditional music party. Seeds are distributed free to all, with the "unwritten" obligation to grow them and return some of them to the group, for future distribution.
