Psarantonis in concert @Technopolis

Contemporary but at the same time archaic, legendary Psarantonis has become the symbol of the Cretan music scene due to his dinstictive voice that moves the audience, his unique talent and his imaginative improvisation techniques. A "father" in the famous Xilouris family from Anogia, Crete, Antonis Xilouris (aka Psarantonis) is one of the most respected musicians in the country with a long career that started in about the '80s with numerous collaborations and participations in festivals in Greece, Australia and the US.

In 2007, Psarantonis was the first Greek who participated in the famous All Tomorrows Parties (UK). In 2009 he is invited for the second time in the same festival in Australia, under the artistic direction of Nick Cave.

In 2014, Nick Cave collaborates with Psarantonis in the soundtrack of the awarded film "Loin Des Hommes".  Since 2009 he collaborates in music recordings and in performances with Vinicio Capossela.

His lyra is exhibited at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, Arizona (US) together with a video of him playing that lyra.

This Tuesday August 2 in Heraklion Psarantonis will give a unique performance featuring his best songs and some unpublished songs from his new album "Erotokritos".
