The Ephorate Antiquities of Chania invites us to the exhibit "Splantzia" by the artist Michalis Manousakis. The exhibition will be hosted at the Church of St. Rocco and the Underground Fountain in Splantzia Square from August 2 to 20, 2016.
Michalis Manousakis delves into the history of Chania, attempting to redefine its course in time following his sentiments. Using his memory, but also images of things and events that happened long before his time, Manousakis curates two spaces of Splantzia Square, St. Rocco and the Turkish fountain. The exhibition in first space is inspired by the history of the city from Minoan times to the '50s and in the second space, the artist goes deeper into mystical places inspired by the Ottoman culture, religion and heritage in the city.
The exhibition will open on August 2 at 20:00 and will remain open daily from 12:00-14:00 and from 19:00-23:00 until August 20.
Entrance is free.
