A series of cultural events and actions is organized by the Association of Architects of the Heraklion Prefecture every year, in order to shed light onto some of the most 'misunderstood' city monuments and the 'invisible' corners of the city that bear historical importance. These 'cultural interventions' include city tours in historical districts, awareness-raising actions, screenings, live music performances, theatrical plays and art exhibitions. This year the theme of the festival focuses around the "hidden" Hellenistic city walls (Arab-Byzantine period).
Many of the events in the program require knowledge of the Greek language (see full program in Greek here and an interactive map of the locations); however, there are several exhibitions and concerts you can still enjoy. Come and find out how active citizens reclaim the city and honor its cultural heritage!
