The Kokolo New York City Afrobeat Orchestra, or simply Kokolo, is one of the most famous groups of the kind, responsible for the global revival of afrobeat and afrofunk rhythms.
The group was founded in 2001 in Lower East Side of Νέας Υορκης by Ray Lugo and since then they 'exploded' with many many recordings, live performances around the world, including the legendary Montreal Jazz Festival, releasing over 50 (!!!) albums, and cooperations with music legends such as Isaac Hayes, James Brown and Roy Ayers, ect.
Their live appearances have a positive fame thanks to the energetic, sharp and edgy sound that characterizes them. A unique experience, not to be missed!
