Festival of the Commons (CommonsFest)

Additional Info

"CommonsFest shows the way to create the world we want, within the world we are trying to overcome!"

The Festival of the Commons (CommonsFest) is an initiative promoting freedom of knowledge (or free knowledge) and peer-to-peer collaboration for the creation and management of the commons. A philosophy that has spread through free software communities and extends to many aspects of our daily lives, such as the arts, governance, construction of machinery, tools and other goods. Through an exhibition, talks, screenings and workshops, the aim of the festival is to promote the achievements of this philosophy to the public and become a motive for further adoption.

You will find the festival's schedule here. Each action takes place in a different location, so remember to check the website for further details. Generally speaking, workshops will take place at the Cooperative Space of 'Koukoutsi' (Archanon 17, near Kornarou Square), screenings at the Cooperative Coffee Shop 'Ortakia' (near Agios Minas), natural farming workshops at the field near the University of Crete (Voutes) and FORTH (bus 11 from Eleftherias Square) and speeches at the Municipality offices on the square across the Museum of Natural History.

You are welcome on 13-21 of April in Heraklion, Crete. Don’t miss it!
