The chickpea

A new and ...tasteful hangout on the bustling Meramvello Street has come to fill the shortage of healthy, quality “fast” food in Heraklion, and much more! “The chickpea” was created by the cooperative community "Apo Koinou" to make reality one of the core values of the community: the widespread availability of organic, healthy food that supports biodiversity and local producers. Here you will find the tastiest falafel of the city filled with your choice of salads and imaginative sauces, all homemade, all organic and made with love! Apart from falafels, “The chickpea”  serves seasonal side dishes and local beer, and you can also buy products of the cooperative in the shop. The environment is friendly and pleasant, the staff is always smiley, and – a big plus – plastic in packaging and serving is replaced by recyclable-only materials, friendly to the environment and our aesthetics!
